Newport Folk Fest

Newport Folk Fest, one of the longest-running music festivals in the world, has been a staple of summertime in New England. From its inauguration in 1959 to Bob Dylan’s iconic electric debut in 1965, the Newport Folk Festival has been a cornerstone of international pop culture and an integral part of the history and preservation of American roots and folk music. Sound Advice began getting involved with Newport Folk Fest in 2019, providing teleprompters and miscellaneous production support. Over the years, we expanded our supplemental production support to include teleprompters, microphones, backline, risers, and more. In 2024, Sound Advice provided audio, backline, and production support for Folk Fest’s closing act, a star-studded performance by Conan O’Brien with Real Musicians, featuring Dawes, Jimmy Vivino, Jack White, Mavis Staples, Nathaniel Rateliff, Nick Lowe, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Lucius & more.
